Tēnā koe. Hello.
I’m Mananui Ramsden.
With local roots and long-term vision grounded in both tradition and innovation, I believe our region can be both economically steady and climate ready.
I am a safe pair of hands for our region’s future.
By ensuring a strong economic foundation for decision-making, we can ready communities for climate adaptation and drive effective strategies and kaupapa that increase native biodiversity.
My experience on both sides of the table means I am uniquely placed to bring people together to achieve real results.
I’m well-known as a good team player, both on and off the rugby field.
I will serve with integrity, energy, and purpose.
I have deep technical knowledge and relevant experience for this role and have built trusted relationships with local and national government MPs, Hapū and Iwi Māori leaders.
Technical expert for national freshwater policy, contributed to regional policy, and helped develop climate adaptation and sea level rise plans.
Own and operate an environmental consultancy focused on sustainable land and water use.
World’s first council-appointed cultural land management advisor, Pou Mātai Kō.
Recent tenure as Chair of Te Rūnaka o Koukourarata in Port Levy.
Previously held governance roles for Te Rūnaka o Kāi Tahu.
